A Global Sailing Event Starting from Klang

Every November, sailors from around the world gather in Malaysia to take part in the Raja Muda Selangor International Regatta (RMSIR), one of Asia’s most prestigious sailing events. In 2025, the regatta will take place from November 14 to November 22, once again putting Klang on the international stage.

From Port Klang to Malaysia’s West Coast

The RMSIR route is both challenging and scenic, spanning over 300 nautical miles:

  • Starting Point: Port Klang — Royal Selangor Yacht Club (RSYC)
  • Stopover: Pangkor Island
  • Midpoint: Penang
  • Finish Line: Langkawi

The regatta features three long-distance overnight offshore races and harbour races, combining speed, strategy, and endurance, making it a true test for sailors and their crews.
