Description
The word "班厝" (Ban Cuo) pronounced as "bān chǔ" in Hokkien dialect, which translates into “wooden house”. With the fusion of local dialects, it is a word that sounds nice and sentimental to the ear. The three-foot brick wooden houses in the village was chosen so that people could relive their childhood and experience the feeling as if they had returned to their grandmother’s home when they visit Ban Chu, traces of lives from the older generation can evidently be seen.
